Lofoten Golf course on Gims Island has a 9 hole course and is located with magnificent sea views. In the summer, during the mid-night sun, it is possible to play 24 hours a day.
The golf course lies in the centre of Lofoten and is approx. 90 kms from Sund.
Course information
Lofoten Golf Links is a 9 hole seaside links course beautifully situated. Placed next to the ocean, it has a free view to the north and the midnight sun makes this course a great experience. The sea is water obstacle for several holes and the beaches functions as natural sand bunkers. In Lofoten Golf Links, the sun can be a 24 hour companion and is the only course in the world to offer this experience over two months. The design is of course architect Jeremy Turner.
Rich bird life
Lofoten Golf Links is a great find for bird enthusiasts. Sea eagles, grouse, oyster catchers, starling, ducks, and sea birds like cormorant, northern gannet and common eider can be seen daily on the course. Arctic loon, red-throated diver, whimbrel and eurasian curlew nest on the course or in immediate vicinity. If you are lucky, you can also see the rare black-tailed godwit. Each year, large flocks of migratory birds as pink-footed and greylag goose can be seen at the course.

Located at Hov on Gimsøy. Hov is an old Viking place with many historical monuments. Among others, there are two Viking burial places on the course. Historians believe the Viking chief Tore Hjort, mentioned in the Viking sagas, origin from this place.
